Against the TV licence

For the ten years I have spent without a TV, I have had reminders in my mailbox each year, that perhaps I have forgotten to declare my possession of a TV set. Always insinuating that you're evading your dues. The possibility that you don't own a TV because you don't need that shit doesn't enter into it. Nor into the yearly campaigns.
Homespun: I don't watch TV

TV-upproret is a petition for abolishment of the TV licence - public service TV should be tax funded.

This is the logical conclusion. I pay my taxes for things that count as public service / public good, even when I don't use the services. OK. So TV has entered that phase in its development. I'll pay - but stop insulting me.

TV licence upset

Nothing much happening in this blog.

But I'm SO angry. Just discovered this week that soon/now every Swede with Internet access must pay the national TV licence!! Since I haven't had a TV for over ten years, and DON'T WATCH TV this upsets me deeply.

Here I spend every evening producing Net culture = Flickring my photos (with a CC licence) and now I'll be forced to pay for the passive consumption of shit I don't want and will never use.

I'm so angry!!

The last recycling station in my block has now been closed, due to the constant fly dumping around the containers.

We produce too much garbage, so the obvious solution is to give us fewer places to get rid of it.

If you don't have a car you should never throw things away.
